DMSO & Co. – a natural health toolbox
Combination of DMSO with other active ingredients
Undoubtedly, the organic solvent DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) impresses with its balancing and regenerating properties.
But the combination with other effective substances is also very interesting.
DMSO is known to act as a channel opener, allowing other substances to be better absorbed by the body.
In addition, toxins and other waste products leave the tissue faster with the support of DMSO.
In general, almost all ingredients and therapy options can be optimized using DMSO.
These include:
- Salts such as magnesium chloride
- amino acids
- vitamins
- lactic acid
- iodine (Lugol's solution)
- hydrogen peroxide
- sulfur, selenium
- colloidal silver
- Hematoxylin / Rose Bengal
- Galactose (mucilage sugar)
- grapefruit seed extract
- Furfural
- chelating agents
- Borax
- Alpha-lipoic acid
Therapeutic methods whose effectiveness can be improved by DMSO include acupuncture, shock wave and magnetic field treatment, hypnosis, ultrasound, bioresonance and osteopathy. For example, DMSO can be rubbed onto the skin beforehand.
How is the healing liquid DMSO used?
A highly concentrated 99.9% substance in a brown glass bottle is recommended for external and oral use. However, you must consider that the concentration information on the label is provided with the additional designation Ph.Eur. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that it is a tested DMSO that is harmless to health!
In its pure and highly concentrated form, however, DMSO is rarely used, for example for local and targeted dabbing of certain skin areas such as warts, nail fungus, herpes or aphthous ulcers.
DMSO has very good dissolving properties. It therefore absorbs the industrial production additives added to almost all plastic materials. These include mold release agents, plasticizers and UV stabilizers.
An exception is the plastic HDPE, which is approved for the storage and transport of DMSO.
Therefore, whenever possible, use utensils made of glass, porcelain or metal for all processes such as storing, mixing and measuring.
You should pretreat pipettes, syringes and spray heads with a small amount of pure DMSO.
For example, fill a spray bottle with a few milliliters of pure DMSO. Then attach the spray head and shake the bottle a few times and then activate it. The first filling is then discarded.
You can also fill a freshly unpacked disposable syringe with a small amount of DMSO, open the plunger as far as it will go and shake the syringe several times.
Then squeeze the contaminated DMSO out of the syringe.
Proceed in the same way with pipettes, bottles and other utensils.
Note: This method is only suitable for the use of utensils for external or oral use!
Applications of DMSO injections and infusions must be prepared differently!
The typical "washout effect" on plastic surfaces can only be observed when using highly concentrated DMSO.
If you pre-dilute the mixture to 20 percent in glassware (i.e. 1 part DMSO : at least 4 parts purified water), the mixture will be neutral in the disposable syringe or infusion bottle.
Dilute DMSO with aqueous solution
If you want to use DMSO for surface and external application, it is also recommended to mix the substance with aqueous dilution media.
Depending on the treatment goal, water is particularly suitable.
But a magnesium chloride solution of 5 percent, procaine solution of 2 percent, isotonic sea water or one's own urine have also proven effective.
Normally only concentrations between 75 percent and 10 percent are used.
Caution: When DMSO is mixed with aqueous solutions, enormous spontaneous heat is generated. This is a unique phenomenon in physics.
The trigger is the ability of DMSO to break the hydrogen bonds between individual water molecules. This causes the bonding energy that was previously "stored" to appear as a heated liquid.
This decoupling effect of the water components is crucial for the versatile mechanisms of action of DMSO once it is absorbed by our body.
In the process, molecular transport channels are (re)activated.
At the same time, the water changes its surface tension and viscosity.
Individual adaptation to your own skin type
Every skin reacts differently to DMSO. Some people experience a tingling sensation, itching or slight redness, while other users have a kind of "nettle feeling". Therefore, the concentration of the mixture should be adapted to the individual skin type. If the effect is too intense on one area of skin, it is simply washed off with water. The DMSO liquid is then further diluted until it is used again.
The leg area can usually tolerate higher concentrations than the chest and stomach region. The most sensitive areas are usually the skin on the face, neck and head.
People with light or blue eyes often react more sensitively than brown-eyed people.
