In homeopathy, the focus is on the individual. In this case, it is not just about their complaints, but also about their adapted nature and their contemporary living conditions. All of this is taken into account in the course of homeopathic treatment by a homeopathic doctor or alternative practitioner.
Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the creator of homeopathy, coined the key phrase "Simila similibus curentur" (Latin: "Let like be cured by like"). According to this principle, a substance that causes particular symptoms in healthy people can cure similar symptoms in a sick person.
Homeopathic potencies – what are they?
The characteristic preparation in the context of potentization, i.e. the gradual dilution and subsequent shaking by hand, is of central importance for homeopathic medicines. It distinguishes a potentized remedy from a pure dilution. Various potencies result from the gradual dilution and shaking. Common potencies are, for example, D and C. In all of these, the D stands for decimal, the dilution ratio is 1:10. The C stands for centesimal, the dilution ratio is 1:100.
For self-treatment, it is generally recommended to use homeopathic medicines in low potencies (D6/D12). If you are unsure which potency is most suitable for you, ask your doctor, pharmacist or alternative practitioner for advice.
