Globuli – What Are They?
Von Natur Total Team
Globuli is the plural of globulus, Latin for globule. The small white globules, which initially consist of sucrose (sugar), are impregnated (= moistened) with the homeopathically potentiated active ingredient or active complex during further processing into the medicine.
In principle, a wide range of different active ingredients are used in the entire manufacturing process of homeopathically prepared globules. The majority of homeopathic medicines are based on plant-based raw materials. However, there are also mineral and animal raw materials that are processed strictly in accordance with the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia (HAB).
Globules are manufactured according to HAB regulation 10. In this context, 100 element beads are moistened with 1 part dilution (at least 60% alcohol) of the appropriate potency. The impregnation takes place in coating pans. With the help of the rotation of the pans and an accurately defined application method, the liquid dilution finds its way to the last globule. Globules come in different sizes. For the usual D and C potencies, HAB globules of size 3 are used. 1 globule weighs approx. 8 mg and has a diameter of approx. 2 millimeters.
In addition to globules, there are alternative dosage forms such as dilutions (= liquid homeopathic medicines) and tablets for oral use, as well as ointments, creams and tinctures for local application to the skin.
Globules, also known as homeopathic pellets, are used in homeopathy for various applications. Although the effectiveness of globules is scientifically controversial, they are popular with many people. Here is a list of applications for which globules are used:
- cold and flu
- allergies and hay fever
- headaches and migraines
- sleep disorders
- anxiety and stress
- Digestive problems such as flatulence, constipation and diarrhea
- Menstrual cramps and premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

- Injuries such as bruises, sprains and muscle strains
- toothache and toothache
- motion sickness and nausea

Please note that this list does not represent a comprehensive overview of all possible uses of globules. It is important to always consult a doctor or medical professional in the event of health problems and not to rely solely on homeopathy or globules.
